No Bread for Booneville

Can you guess what this means?

What's missing from this pictures?

Reid always tells me Booneville people are crazy and weird..

I guess I proved Reid right because I am the crazy girl taking pictures of aisles in Wal-Mart.

This would be the bread aisle in Wal-Mart on Sunday afternoon.

Why is the bread aisle empty on a Sunday afternoon?

EMPTY!!!

Well our forecast for the next few days read snow Snow SNOW!!!

When you live in a place like Booneville a little snow can make you go wild.

What are we going to eat for a whole day if we get snowed in?

Bread I guess...

I've really never understood why everyone rushes for bread when the weather gets icy but they do!

I guess its something basic and versatile to survive on.

Well guess what happened next....

The snow came!!!! It really came.. it snowed and snowed and snowed some more!!

We got between 8 and 9 inches!!

In a town that barely gets snow at all this was wonderful!!!

So all day today children young and old got out to play in the white fluffy stuff!!

I think every other house had a snowman.

Megan and I went to a house where about 10 or 15 kids around our age were playing.

We sledded (is that a word)

We also made some beautiful snow angels.

We enjoyed the snow!!!!

Thanks so much God for this wonderful white blessing! :)

love,

Lately..

Once again I've fallen behind on my blogs posts and once again I've decided to pick back up..I've been doing lots over the break... and alot of nothing as well!
Many trips have been made with Megan to Tupelo or just wherever else we can think up to go.
We are so bargain/antique shoppers let me tell you!!
I've also spent alot of time with Reid and his family this break. I'm starting to become Reids little sister Allie's full time roommate! haha Hope you didn't mind too much Allie! :)

We decided to go with a low key New Years Eve this year since it was so stormy and tornadoish. We just loaded up and headed to Whiskey Island for a few nights with Reids family, Nathan and JR. What a fun and relaxing weekend we had!!

As you can see below, I wore a crown all night long. Even though it was paper, a girl can never pass up an opportunity to wear a crown!!

Yes Reid does have on his Orvis briar pants as everyday pants! I guess I can let it slide since we are at a hunting camp! ha

On my latest trip to Reid's I begged and begged him to take me to GiGi's cupcakes. I've heard my roommate and many others rave about how wonderful they are and if you know me, you know I love cupcakes! So off we went.. Reid tried to act like he wasn't that excited about it but when we arrived at the lovely shop Reid defiantly jumped right out of the car and didn't even turn it off. Yes you heard me right, the guy that wasn't even excited to get one of those tasty cupcakes left the car running to rush in and get that yummy greatness!! haha We got there kind of late in the afternoon so a few flavors were sold out unfortunately. We settled on 3 flavors to try this time.

Wedding cake, Peanut Butter Cup, and Midnight Magic Chocolate Chip

Now that I'm here all week and halfway snowed in I must complete some things on my To Do list like:

- complete my pharmacy application process

- check in to getting my books for this upcoming semester

- start a spring break diet (yay for Punta Cana)

- organize everything to make my life easier

- do a project like paint something or restore something

That's all for now...

More Flakes?

So I didn't make it back to school for physics this morning! It felt like a waste to get out of my huge comfy bed at my house at 7 in the morning to drive an hour and 15 minutes for a 50 minute physics class where all the notes are online and attendance is not taken! See, not very logical! Instead I slept till 10 and took a fabulously long shower in my own shower.. without shower shoes.. and ate a big home cooked breakfast and took my time getting back to Ox for my ballet class. Have I said lately how I love ballet? I do, it's my favorite class! Its much better than genes or electrical currents or even Eskimos(anthropology)!I'm just not in the mood for school these days. My mom gets upset with me daily because she says I'm not serious about school. I think I'm serious just not necessarily passionate. I'm not sure if it's possible to be passionate about pharmacy when I'm only in the early stages...or if I ever will be until I'm working because it's just so terribly difficult and time consuming and life draining! AHHH!!! Well back to happy note or at least half way happy note, it's supposed to snow tonight and in the morning. I'm kind of over the snow now though because it's never deep enough to cover the dirt and we never get out of school for it! I do love to see big flakes fall though.. so if it has to snow I hope it's the big flakes!

Spring Tease

Relief and Nervous. These are the two words I felt after my genetics test today. There wasn't quite enough time which makes me nervous about my grade but mainly I feel relief. I hate having a test hang over my head and it feels so good to have all my tests taken for a while. Today was a perfect day to be relieved. It was actually sunny and warm. Warm being about 45 which is warm compared to recent days. I just wanted to be outside all afternoon but it was bit chilly so instead of a walk around the square I opted for a drive. This is a tease that spring is here though I know it really isn't. There's still quite a few weeks before the pretty sunny warm weather is here!.. but I can not wait! Spring just makes everything better.. I'm not as stressed usually and I just want to smile. Its pleasant to be outside and fresh air is always a plus! And did I mention that SPRING PARTIES are almost here?? I love them.. they make me happy.. and they will be here before I know it! What's better than dressing up like a redneck and heading to a field party or competing against other sororities in dance and cheer competitions?! I personally live for the last two. I never quite got the dance and cheer out of my system in high school. All of that being said, I hope this nice weather sticks around for a while. Tomorrow night is date party.. the theme is Mardi Gras which should be fun! I can't wait to dance the night away.. hope my date is up for it!

Valentines wasn't over yet...

So just about the time I finished my last post some of our friends called.. and they wanted to play in the snow while it was still here! So you know what I did? I got out of bed and redressed sporting my wedge rain boots and headed to the snow! We had so much fun! It was defiantly worth getting out of bed for!! There is a HUGE hill by some of the dorms and so we decided to see who all was sledding there. On the way there we somehow stumbled upon a random spontaneous snow ball fight!! How fun is that?! After being pelted and doing some pelting with snowballs we continued on to the hill. Sure enough there were tons of people sledding down the hill on whatever they could find. Lots of beer boxes left over from the weekend and a few plastic boxes and actually quite a few recycling lids from the bins randomly placed around campus. It was the most fun I've had in a while and defiantly will be a memory I will cherish forever!! :)
Outside the DEEG..

Posing in the snow..

The HUGE hill.. its kind of too dark..

About to sled down the hill on a lid..

Happy Valentines Day

Or should I say no-Valentines day! Yes this was the first year in many years that I haven't had a valentine. It's quite depressing actually but I am lucky enough to be surrounded by tons of single friends! Does this say something about my situation.. Maybe so. Anyhow.. this morning a few of us visited a new church. It was super "college like." I was a bit dissapointed becasue the preacher did not speak on love like I love to hear. Either way though it was a nice change and a good message. We had lunch at what seems to be the most sketch place ever. There is a "Big Star" grocery store on the far end of the town. It looks like it has been there for a while and isnt quite the brightest crayon in the box but it has a-mazing plate lunches!! The rest of the afternoon I did laundry and napped. What an exciting and romantic v-day! Later tonight I was studying and heard shreiks and laughter.. yep it was snowing outside!! The most beautiful huge snowflakes have been falling for a few hours now. They've blanketed out lawn and give us all a bit of an uplifting! Even though I'm 20 now there's still something about snow! It makes me smile and want hot chocolate and wish for a snow day! A snow day would be fabulous since Monday is my long day.. this will most likely not happen. A girl can wish though!!

What a great way to end Valentines Day..

What a fabulous roommate I have. Tonight when I got back from dinner I had this cute little valentine waiting on me! This is actually the finished product.. it was originally a scrambled sticker puzzle card! As you can tell it's already hanging on my bulliten board. Thanks Katie, it made my day! :)

Blog Worthy

I haven't blogged in a few days because I have had trouble deciding what was "blog worthy." I want my posts to be interesting and I want people to keep coming back for more. Anyhow through all of this I've decided to consider life blog worthy. Even if its not that intriguing my life, my memories are special to me. So with that said the past few days..

IT SNOWED IN MISSISSIPPI!!
Not only did it snow here.. it lasted for 3 whole days(as of tonight, it could be possibly 4). All schools were cancelled all over the state and the ones in my town were not only cancelled for that day but for Friday as well because ice was anticipated. The temperatures were in the single digits adand ice did come. I do not care for frigid weather.. neither does my baby dog Jolie. I will post more about her later.. I wish I had a picture of her in the snow to include here. Anyhow even though I enjoyed watching the snow I kept indoors through most of it. I used to love to play in it and eat it and make snow angels and all of that but not this year for some reason. This photo was taken after lunch on Thursday but this is almost how my yard still looks.. just a little less white.

Also like any other time Im at home for an extended peiord of time I cooked! I really do love cooking although I'm not always the best. I'm more of a baker than chef I'd say.. sweets are my weekness. I successfully cooked a chocolate cobler which I devoured almost single handedly in a matter of days. This time I decided to go for something of a little more substance. I chose... chicken torilla soup.. the cheesy kind of course!(Here is the recipe) It was amazing and perfect for the cold. Im getting better and better each time I try.. maybe by the time I'm married and have kids I'll be able to cook an actual real meal!! As for tonight though Im going back to my roots and trying a chocolate creme cake.. I'll let you know how it goes!
