Spring Party Weekend #2

Let me catch you up on my life-
Physics test last Wednesday = terrible!
Thursday night was our FORMAL!! It was at a cool place off of Beale in Memphis! The band was amazing and we danced the night away! I had a complete blast..
My fabulous date to formal! Just wait Old South.. you're not ready for us!!

All of the girls on the back of the bus!

Friday I skipped my class and slept in. It was very much needed since I hadn't really gotten much sleep all week since I had that test on Wednesday not to mention we didn't get back to the Deeg after formal until about 3AM. That night we had charity bowl. We did great as usual but only came out with 3rd. There was a really fabulous rap band was at the levee so that's where we went! It was tons of fun and when we left we even got to see the new Oxford Police on horseback!!

Saturday was KA Hayseed! Fun does not even start to describe it! It was a field party complete with piles of hay and trailers with kegs! The theme was redneck and everyone came in their cutoffs of course! We keep it classy here at Ole Miss!! ha

Tearing up the dance floor..

DG girls at Hayseed!

More to come later..

WP, GP, and BC

The three topics of my blog today all have possible 2 initials and in looking for a catchy title I settled on the initials. And the first..
Wedding Planning! Thursday I accompanied Megan , her mom, MeMe and her fiancee's mom to Tupelo to work on some wedding things. After lunch (mexican) we headed over to a bridal shop to look for some bridesmaid dresses. We were happy to find two styles and two colors for her to choose from. Megan then tried on several dresses for herself but none of them were quite her style or what she was looking for! So after an hour or two there we headed across town to another more personal place.. we got a little lost on the way. We only had about 20 minutes at the second place because we had an appointment with the wedding/reception place Megan was looking at. We only had time to try on about 3 dresses but they were all much better than the ones at the first place. I personally think we may have found "the one" but it was too short of a visit to know for sure! After that we headed to Mt Vernon Place where the wedding and reception will both be held. It is a beautiful place and will be gorgous in the summer! We met with the director and she showed us around and gave us all of the options for pretty much everything! I didn't realize what all went in to this stuff! It will be many many years before I get married but this will definately help me when my time does come! It was sooo much fun helping Meg with everything wedding! I can't wait for more things like this! June 2011 will be here before we know it!!
Gas Pumping- Just another reason that I do love my small hometown! Every Friday and Saturday a little local hometown gas station has attendants working to pump your gas for you. I know this happens in big cities as well but for a higher gas fee and its just not as personal.
ButterCups- They're blooming EVERYWHERE!! This is when you know spring has sprung! I love the little yellow blooms.. it reminds me of being a little girl! I have so many fond memories of picking hands full of these things for my mom to put in vases all over the house! I absolutely loved them.. and still do! The little bright yellow flowers just remind me of spring and bring a smile to my face!
This is all for now...

Funny how a pair of shoes can make you feel..

“Funny that a pair of really fabulous shoes makes us feel so good in our heads — at the extreme opposite end of our bodies.” -Levende Waters

This quote is oh so true! A great pair of shoes can make you feel like a million bucks! I have to say they are my weakness.. Completely. Heels especially.. closely followed by wedges.
I received a fabulous pair of shoes for Christmas from my mama. She picked them out herself and surprisingly I loved them! You almost can't go wrong with a new pair of Jessica Simpson's!They're the perfect neutral color and a perfect high height! The lining and soles are leopard print which is definitely a favorite of mine and the leather is patent also a favorite! Anyway they've been the newest to my collection for a while and quite possibly my new favorites! Last time I came home for a weekend I wore them to church and stepped in a terribly small but deep crack. And yea, I came out with a huge gash in the back of the heel that was soooo deep it showed the metal stake in the heel. It made me sick to say the least!
This past Friday I was driving home from school and decided to drive through Tupelo. I passes "the Shoe Hospital".. I had seen it before but this time I stopped by. I have quite a few pairs of nice heels whose heels have been ruined by walking though gravel or mainly the Grove. The cap on the heel has fallen off and the fabric/leather that covered the stake has rolled up. Needless to say I am a bit rough on my heels.. and it's always the ones I love the most. So anyhow I stopped by this little hospital and took in the only two distressed pairs I had brought home with me... my fabulous sling back patent leather black BCBG heels and my new gorgeous nude colored peep toe JS pumps. (Can you hear the affection in my voice because it's there?!) The lady working there looked at both and said she could only help the black ones whose heel caps were missing and leather ruffled. The fact that she could fix those made me ecstatic because they had been damaged for quite some time now. She said she could not fix my nude pumps but she new a trick that could help! She told me to find a crayon that semi matched the color and melt it down and paint in on to the gash.. I did it and guess what IT WORKED!! You can see where it did it because the colors do not match exactly and the surface is not completely smooth but when I'm wearing them you'll never be able to notice! I'm so excited she let me in on this trick because I'm sure through the rest of my life I'll have plenty of other accidents. I have another pair or two that are missing heel caps that will be be sent to the shoe hospital as soon as the house opens back up after Spring Break and I can get my hands on them! I can't wait to have brand new heels again!
My Personal repair job- you can barely even tell!!

Here are they are in mint condition- Fabulous!

I've had shoes on my mind alot lately and the other day I found a cute pair of JS wedges in the mall the other day. I tried them on with all intentions of buying but they didn't have my size! Sad time but I came home to Internet search them and order them! Guess what, I found them for free overnight shipping AND in an even better color!! I ordered "Glorie" in Rustic Platinum and I can not wait for them to come in!! I have a feeling they might just be a favorite and I may just have to order them in desert sand (the original color I loved). They'll be here tomorrow and I will be waiting!
New Wedges=Spring Time

Also I got my first real massage today! Pure Bliss!! I'm a sucker for a good foot rub and a back rub isn't far behind! Definitely worth it!!
That's all for today I believe.. I'll let you know my review on the new wedges tomorrow hopefully!

Maybe now I'm caught up...

Hello Spring Break!

Today to me marks the first day of Spring Break 2010! I had a genetics this morning and I can not tell you how glad I am to have it over with. I hate having big tests because they always mean late nights, early mornings, and no sleep! I definately require lots of sleep so it has been a bit miserable. All is well now. I spent the afternoon browsing the square.. o how I love afternoons like these. Megan's birthday is tomorrow so some friends went to dinner for that.. Phillips is always fun! Happy Birthday Megan! Tonight I have done nothing but relax.. kind of. Saralauren has Jillian from the Biggest Loser's workout video. Her Emily and Cassie worked it tonight. Not by choice I was the comic releif. I am horrible at things like that and I hate working out.. I really wish I didn't. Tonight Ellen is staying the night with us!! This makes me super excited because she is the one person I miss the most lately! She only lives about 100 yards away but our paths never cross anymore! So now we're all sitting around sharing stories and laughs and catching up....Bliss! Thats all for now, Im going to enjoy my girl time and last night in Ox for a while..

Ground Hog Day and ATO Menage Tau

I didn't even check to see how long it's been since I've blogged. It's longer than I would like. I'm going to blame it on my sickness and busy weekend. While I was home this weekend I started feeling a little yucky. Just a sinusy cold type thing so I knew it was nothing major. It got worse however and by Wednesday I decided that I should try and get some medicine before the weekend because boy do I love my weekends!! I decided just to go to the Health Center on Campus. I sat in a crowded waiting room with lots of people who seemed to have about the same thing I did. I watched as we all sat in the same chair to have our blood pressure and temperature taken and then we all rejoined the crowded sitting space. One by one my fellow sicklings went back to see the doctor and came back out wearing a MASK! Yep I had been sitting in the waiting room with about 7 flu victums and we didn't even know it! Lucky I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and luckly escaped the flu I should have caught in the waiting room. I did alot of sleeping and taking some medicine and I felt fine by Friday. Thursday we went to the basketball game and then out after. Thursdays are becoming my favorite night in Ox.
Earlier this week my college friend Whitley (I also have a high school one) asked me if I'd like to accompany her and her boyfriend to ATO Menage Tau date party.Notice I said Tau and not the french worde. Of course I took her up on it, who turns down a date party?! This is really a neat idea for a date party. All the guys get to bring 2 dates and it was really alot of fun! Denver (whitleys bf) cooked some yummy fish and potatoes for us! He's really a great cook!! We then headed to the ATO house for a fun night!
Here's a picture:

Saturday was Sigma Chi Ground Hog Day. Let the spring parties begin!!! It was perfect weather. Every one dressed to a T you could say in their cut off shorts and red neck gear! I think I even got a little sun on my face and chest! It was definately a good start for the season. Pictures to come, I didn't take any but I know someone did! Saturday night we decided to go out again. I've really been the party girl lately. Very uncharacteristic of me! Not much was going on but we had alot of fun anyway! I also have a picture coming of this night! Other Ox news from last night The Gin, an old bar on the square burned down. I mean it went up in flames!! The pictures were crazy. We tried to check it out for ourselves but the roads were all blocked! And today I'm working on all the schoolwork I slacked in this weekend. I have quite alot to do actually! So this is all for now!

More Flakes?

So I didn't make it back to school for physics this morning! It felt like a waste to get out of my huge comfy bed at my house at 7 in the morning to drive an hour and 15 minutes for a 50 minute physics class where all the notes are online and attendance is not taken! See, not very logical! Instead I slept till 10 and took a fabulously long shower in my own shower.. without shower shoes.. and ate a big home cooked breakfast and took my time getting back to Ox for my ballet class. Have I said lately how I love ballet? I do, it's my favorite class! Its much better than genes or electrical currents or even Eskimos(anthropology)!I'm just not in the mood for school these days. My mom gets upset with me daily because she says I'm not serious about school. I think I'm serious just not necessarily passionate. I'm not sure if it's possible to be passionate about pharmacy when I'm only in the early stages...or if I ever will be until I'm working because it's just so terribly difficult and time consuming and life draining! AHHH!!! Well back to happy note or at least half way happy note, it's supposed to snow tonight and in the morning. I'm kind of over the snow now though because it's never deep enough to cover the dirt and we never get out of school for it! I do love to see big flakes fall though.. so if it has to snow I hope it's the big flakes!
